Our client is an internationally famous Italian luxury fashion house. Growing rapidly in the e-commerce logistics space, our client who is a world-renowned player in that field wanted to automate their operational import and processing of bulk CSV data being generated daily from their logistics processes.
Client is using external OMS and WMS who provide data in EDI. Client sought to streamline their business operations by integrating netsuite with EDI files like 846, 856, 810, 950, 945 etc. The integration needed to involve the creation of API to accept EDI file data, parsing of the EDI data.
It helps system to generate various records such as purchase orders (PO), Sales order (SO), item fulfilments, item receipts, and inventory adjustments, Invoice automated notifications to authorized personnel upon successful operation, and comprehensive logging of all integration activities for monitoring purposes.
To meet the client’s requirements, we adopted a systematic development approach that focused on efficiency, accuracy, and reliability. We began by designing and implementing a REST API with OAuth 1.0 authentication to securely accept EDI file data.
Upon receiving the files, our EDI parse engine, parsed the EDI data and generated the necessary records, including POs, item fulfilments, item receipts, and inventory adjustments. We then developed scripts to trigger notifications to authorized personnel once each operation was successfully completed.
Additionally, we implemented an integration logging system to record all activities, providing administrators with visibility into the integration process.
Complex Data Parsing: Parsing EDI data to extract relevant information and generate accurate records posed a challenge due to the varying formats and structures of EDI files.
Authentication and Security: Implementing OAuth 1.0 authentication for the REST API to ensure secure data transmission and access control required careful configuration and testing.
Automation and Scalability: Developing automation scripts to handle large volumes of EDI data and ensuring scalability to accommodate future growth presented challenges in system design and optimization.
Notification System: Designing a notification system to inform authorized personnel about successful integration operations while minimizing latency and ensuring reliability was a challenging task.
Robust REST API with OAuth 1.0 Authentication: We implemented a secure REST API with OAuth 1.0 authentication to facilitate the acceptance of EDI file data, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Automated Data Parsing and Record Generation: We implement EDI parse engine, it efficiently parsed EDI data file and generated various records such as PO, SO, item fulfilments, item receipts, Sales invoice, vendor bill and inventory adjustments with accuracy and reliability.
Notification System: We developed a notification system to alert authorized personnel about successful integration operations in real-time, enhancing transparency and accountability. It also alert authorized person if there is any error or complication during data parsing or transaction posting.
Integration Logging: We implemented an Integration log engine to record each activity. Comprehensive integration logging system record all activities, allowing administrators to monitor the integration process, identify any interruptions, and troubleshoot issues promptly.
