Client is a leading financial services institution renowned for its commitment to innovation and excellence in service delivery. With a diverse portfolio spanning wealth management, investment banking, and corporate finance, the client operates in a highly competitive and dynamic market.
We opted to leverage Bootstrap for responsive design and jQuery for dynamic functionality in developing the dynamic dashboard. The focus was on creating a user-friendly interface that offered easy navigation to different reports and saved searches.
Client sought to enhance data accessibility by creating a dynamic portlet on dashboard screen, with attractive icons, allowing users to seamlessly access various reports and saved searches with a single click.
Additionally, they required the capability to upload customize icons to redirect various saved search and reports, as well as assign roles or users to specific reports for access restriction purposes.
We opted to leverage Bootstrap for responsive design and jQuery for dynamic functionality in developing the dynamic dashboard. The focus was on creating a user-friendly interface that offered easy navigation to different reports and saved searches within NetSuite Dashboard.
We use custom record, saved search, portlet and suitelet to provide capabilities to upload customize icons and set appropriate icons.
Dynamic Portlet Design: Designing dynamic portlets with Bootstrap and customize icon is big challenge as NetSuite doesn’t provide module or library to implement such design nor allow to consume boostrap or any external library directly.
Seamless Navigation: Redirecting users to various reports and saved searches with a single click on provided icon while maintaining smooth navigation was crucial but challenging.
Custom Icon: Implementing a feature that allowed users to define custom icons with various images required careful consideration of user experience and technical feasibility.
Role-Based Access Control: Implementing role-based access control for navigation icon, which is redirecting user to various reports, ensuring that only authorized role holders could access specific reports, posed a complex challenge.
Dynamic Portlet Design: I tweak suitelet form and utilized Bootstrap’s grid system, jQuery and responsive utilities to design dynamic portlets that adapt seamlessly to different screen sizes, ensuring a consistent user experience.
Custom Icon and Menu Creation: We developed a user-friendly interface using custom record and fields, that enabled users to easily create custom icons and menus by selecting from a library of images, enhancing personalization and user engagement.
Role-Based Access Control: We implemented role-based access control functionality with the help of custom fields under custom record, it allows administrators to assign specific roles or to reports, thereby ensuring data security and compliance.
